Pie lovers have taken pilgrimages to Round Top, Texas for a bite of the Royer clan's delicious desserts for years but can now get their fix at the bakery's new location on the drag. The Austin outpost of Royers Pie Haven has been rumored for years and has finally popped up.

The bakery has an extensive menu that can be overwhelming to newcomers with more sweet teeth than room in their stomachs. Luckily, the staff are friendly and more than happy to help you decide on the proper fix. The menu provides a great mix of decadently sweet pies, savory pies, muffins, pastries, and coffee beverages. All pies are also available whole and by the slice.

On our trip, we took home a sweet sampling of Not My Mom's Apple Pie, Texas Trash Pie, and the Sweet 'N Salty Pie. All three slices offered unexpected and creative twists on the classics.

The eatery is outfitted with shabby chic décor that is instantly reminiscent of small town Texas. Ornate gold frames encase hand written menus while several chandeliers light the seating areas. It makes for a cozy spot to grab a slice and a cup of coffee.

Tara, the Pie Queen, opened the first Pie Haven in Round Top, Texas in 2011as an outlet for her creativity. The Royers have also been serving up delicious pies in Round Top at Royers Cafe since 1987.
