Big Band Brunch at Bangers

Banger's Sausage and Beer is primarily known for, well, just that- sausage and beer. They have an spacious patio, hearty food, a great drink selection, and even a fenced in dog run so you can bring Fido along for the fun. But Banger's isn't just a great place for sausage and beer- it's also an awesome brunch joint. Every Sunday, Banger's hosts a big band that performs on the patio stage, and it turns into a real party. The music's loud, the food comes out fast, and everyone has a blast.

Banger's brunch is so popular that, when we arrived, there was a very long line out the door in the front. Luckily, our friends had already snagged a table, so we strolled right back to the patio. We brought along our dog and prompted deposited him into the dog run with a few other pooches. By the time we were ready to go, he was exhausted! It's a great place to take your dog to let out a little steam while you get to have some fun too.

After we got settled at our table, we checked out the menu and knew we'd need to order the Lolo's Corned Beef Hash; a six day house-cured angus brisket, herb roasted potatoes, poblano peppers, onions, kale, & cherry tomatoes, topped w/ hollandaise and two poached eggs. It came out shortly after ordering, piping hot. This is a great dish for sharing, because there's tons of it! We loved it and would definitely recommend it. It's also a great dish to order if you plan to booze it up on Rainey Street for the rest of the day.

We're also big bagel fans, so we got the Pastrami-Style House Cured Salmon, which comes with a toasted everything bagel, shredded hardboiled eggs, cream cheese, capers, diced red onions, sliced tomatoes, cracked black pepper & sea salt. This dish was as good as, if not better than, any bagel and lox we've had in town. The pastrami-style salmon was smoky and delicious. If you're a fan of bagels and lox, this dish is for you! Rarely do you see eggs served this way, and we loved it. Banger's separates the egg whites and yolks and makes them super easy to sprinkle on a bagel.

If you're feeling healthy, or just can't bear to stomach a heavy meal after a long night of drinking, try the Granola, Fruit, & Yogurt - it's a mason jar layered with house-made granola and yogurt, then topped with seasonal fruit. Super delicious, super light, and really healthy! This is a great dish to order if you plan on being really active later in the day. Banger's is close to the lake as well as plenty of trails, so there's lots of opportunity for activity right outside your door after brunch.

We ordered plenty of food but couldn't resist when it came to the fries. While fries aren't traditionally a brunch item, they're just too good to pass up at Banger's. One order feeds a ton of people.

We had such a great time at the Banger's brunch that we can't wait to go back again. The big band music on Sundays is such a blast for people of all ages, and there is no age limit at Bangers. We took 3 babies on our trip, and saw tons of other young people with their kids there, as well. We left Banger's after 3 hours with full tummies, sleeping babies, and exhausted puppies- I'd say it was a success!
