With fall and winter holidays around the corner, there's no time better than the present to start reigning in your indulgent snacks and meals. If Halloween didn't do enough damage, we have heavy Thanksgiving and Christmas or Hannukah holidays hot on its heels. And as much as I strive to be healthy, I often find that a green juice isn't enough to get me through a meal. That's where Blenders and Bowls comes in. This adorable paradise-inspired cafe serves up super healthy and superfood-rich as well as filling smoothies and acai bowls. If you're looking for a caffeine boost, grab a coffee or espresso drink, as well!

Blenders and Bowls has an adorable patio

Blenders and Bowls is Austin's only acai cafe. What's acai, you ask? Acai is a Brazilian superfruit packed with vitamins and nutritients that also tastes delicious! And of course, Blenders and Bowls respects multiple allergies and food sensitivities by having things like gluten-free granola, agave nectar substitute for honey for vegans, house-made paleo granola, nut-free options, and plenty of dairy-free options. And check out additional details on substitutions for better health choices:

- Looking for less sugar or calories? Sub unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk, or coconut water for juice in a smoothie. Swap strawberries or peaches for bananas. Leave out honey.
- Need more protein or fiber? Add Vega or whey protein, or peanut butter! Kale and chia seeds are great for fiber.
- Low on energy? Add bee pollen or maca to your order. Or pick up of their coffee or espresso drinks!
- Want to cure your hangover? Add coconut water, ginger, and pinapple!
- Allergies bothering you? Opt for local honey, spirulina, or bee pollen!
- Trying to kick a cold or bug? Dragon fruit is great for immunity!

Gorgeous build-out

If you're interested in an acai bowl, the options include so many different ingredients! There are bowls with dragonfruit, strawberries, hemp granola, chocolate almond milk, cucumber, cacao, avocado, goji berries, crushed almonds, raisins, coconut shreds, and more! Smoothies include many of the same ingredients, and both smoothies and bowls can be customized.

Another great thing about Blenders and Bowls is how kid-friendly it is. There's a great patio for hanging with kids or dogs, and the interior is also spacious enough to accommodate a wandering toddler or two. And kids will love the smoothies and bowls, as well!
