Russell's, located just a few doors down from the original Kerbey Lane, is a cozy, neighborhood bistro and bakery that serves a healthy, dependable, and yummy brunch. The feature a great patio that's beautiful on sunny days, and covered and heated on not so sunny days. During my most recent visit, the weather was windy and cold, but Russell's covered and heated patio allowed us to sit in the sunlight but under the warmth of a heater. We started off with a Cappuccino and a Strawberry Mimosa - as you can see below, the serving size of both were super generous! If you're with a group, you can also opt for a carafe of mimosas (helpful so that you don't have to flag down your waiter for refills).

I opted for a healthy start to my day, and the Bistro Omelet was a perfect choice. The omelet is served with mushrooms, spinach, cheddar, mozzarella, red onion and avocado. It comes with a fresh croissant, baked in house, which is served with housemade strawberry butter. The butter is amazing! Other generous side dishes include fruit and house potatoes (perfectly crispy).

My friend opted for a more decadent choice- the Crab Cakes Benedict, house crab cakes with two eggs poached in white wine, with Hollandaise on a toasted croissant. The most crucial parts of a great Benedict are runny eggs and a great Hollandaise, and Russell's hit the nail on the head in both departments! The crab cakes themselves were also really meaty and seared on the outside, which made for great texture.

You can't check out Russell's without ordering off of their bakery menu. This visit, we ordered the Schnecken (which is also just fun to say) to share. A Schnecken is a German pastry that's similar to a cinnamon roll, but filled with raisins and walnuts. It comes out warm and gooey- needless to say, we polished it off.

And finishing up by sharing a Schneken for dessert!

Russell's is open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, and their menu really varies for each meal. They also feature a wine and beer list, a full dessert menu, and most conveniently of all, a parking lot.
