Jack Allen’s Kitchen in Round Rock offers a delicious refuge among a sea of chain restaurants along I-35.

In addition to a hip scene, the preppy restaurant offers fresh seafood, flown in daily, for you to enjoy noon to night.

While there are tons of ritzy joints in town to get oysters (Perla's, Clark's, Parkside, to name a few), our favorite secret spot for oysters can be found off the beaten path in Round Rock.

Brunching at Clark's

Austin has seen an explosion in its seafood scene over the last few years- there's Garbo's, ParksidePerla's, Dock and Roll, just to name a few. But the chic-est addition of all is Clark's Oyster Bar on West 6th and Blanco. It's tiny and perfectly decorated, which makes getting a table a little harder than at the aforementioned restaurants. Luckily, they take reservations. A word to the wise? Make one. I scored a table for 4 recently at their adorable brunch and had the perfect meal with 3 close girlfriends. What'd we order, you ask? Feast your eyes on these pics I snapped!

Clark's complimentary bread board with sea salt, butter, jam, and lemon scones

Blueberry Lemonade (with a sprig of basil added in)

Pimm’s #1 Cup
Pimm’s, Hendrick’s, Cucumber, Lemon, Ginger Ale

Smoked Gravlox Salmon Plate
Served with Classic Condiments, Rye Toast

Tuna Salad Sandwich
House Confit, Green Olive & Parsley Vinaigrette with Clark’s Fries
Definitely more than enough for 2 to share!

Grilled Cheese Egg in the Hole
Served with Watercress & Endive, Sofrito
A decadent option!

Banana & Blueberry Pancakes
Served with Lambert’s Lardons, Whipped Créme Fraîche

Lobster Roll
Served with Clark’s Fries or Slaw, Quick Pickles
It might not be the most affordable lobster roll in town, but the giant chunks of lobster made it well worth it!

Crab Cake
Served with Mache & Frisee Salad, Pickled Shallots, Hollandaise
For $26, we expected a more generous serving, but it was delicious.

Clark's also offers a diverse selection of oysters along with their brunch, as well as great breakfast options like the Grilled Kale & Goat Cheese Omelette, Lobster & Farm Eggs en Cocotte, and Clark’s Cioppino on Grits with a Fried Egg.

Even if you're just going for light brunching and cocktails to cure your hangover, you've got plenty to choose from! Indulge in a little hair of the dog with a Grapefruit Mint Julep or a Bloody Caesar (a variation of the Bloody Mary).

If you're a little nervous about those prices, head into Clark's for Happy Hour! Monday through Friday from 3pm-6pm, get 50 cents off oysters, 1/2 off burgers, and $5 martinis and draft beers!
