As the Manor Road area continues to grow, a few new places are popping up to fill the neighborhood bar void. The brand spanking new School House Pub focuses on local beers, crafty cocktails, and dishes made of local produce and in-house sausages. The bar is brought to you by the team behind Mi Madre's, the Mexican restaurant next door.

As the name suggests, the bar features a school house theme complete with a bell tower that will ring for last call and closing. The interior is dimly lit and decorated with some vintage text books and a chalkboard reminding you not to make out under the bleachers. And when you head home for the night, your bill will be brought to you in an adorable mini-composition notebook.

Even their signature cocktails come with clever school inspired names. We happily sampled Under the Bleachers and Intro to Spanish.

You can compliment your beverages with some intriguing shareable plates that take a playful spin on standard bar snacks. While the focus seems to be on decadent comfort food, you can sneak in some veggies with the Eat Your Greens plate or the Hippie Salad.

There's no way not to dig right in to the Chorizo & Eggs!

If you're looking for something a little more filling, you'll find some great burgers and sandwiches as well. During our trip, we sampled the Chorizo & Eggs and the Chilled Crab Club sandwich.
