This time of year Austinites just can't get enough of their frozen treats. Make room for Frost, the newest sweet spot at the Hill Country Galleria

Frost is now open at the Hill Country Galleria

Frost isn't exactly a newcomer to the scene. They have locations in other states (even around the world!)  but only two in Texas and a third scheduled to come to the Domain. Like other Austin favorites, the team behind Frost was inspired by authentic gelaterias in Italy and set out to bring delicious gelato to the U.S. They are dedicated to sourcing and importing as much equipment and as many ingredients as possible from Italy.

The folks behind Frost know that you eat with your eyes before your mouth. You won't be able to resist the beautiful display case, adorned with all kinds of fruit, toppings, and other accoutrements that make their gelato look extra mouth-watering.

You won't just find tubs of gelato - each flavor is its own work of art

The atmosphere in Frost manages to be both cool and cozy at the same time. The staff is friendly and more than happy to offer multiple samples of their unique flavors. I couldn't resist trying the Honey Lavender, adorned with pretty sprigs of the actual flower! While it's not something I would personally eat a whole cup of, it was a unique combo that I was glad to try.

Cool, friendly atmosphere in this gelato/espresso shop

It was pretty evident from the moment we set our eyes on the flavors that I had to have the Espresso Chip. The staff also urged us to try the Giandula, which was the richest, most chocolately nutella flavor I've ever tried, and a perfect complement to our coffee flavor. We chose to share a medium size, which includes 2 flavors at only $4.

Espresso Chip and Giandula made a perfect pair! Love that a little bite of cone was included

Frost has a legit espresso machine for your caffeine fix, and you can even take advantage of catering options for your next event. They also have some interesting stats on how much "better" for you gelato is than ice cream, so it's a splurge you don't have to feel as guilty about.

Choose gelato and you'll save on calories and fat!

You won't be able to resist the beautiful display case of gelato at Frost, the Hill Country Galleria's newest sweet spot.
