These days, the Austin pizza scene is ever growing and now includes Las Vegas import Due Forni. Due Forni boasts not one but two Napolitano brick ovens and is the only restaurant in the country to do so.

Margherita pizza, made with San Marzano tomatoes and buffalo milk mozzarella.

All pizzas on the menu can be served on the thicker Neapolitan or the thin and crispy Roman style crust. In addition to pizzas, the menu also features hot and cold appetizers, charcuterie, cheeses, salads, and a mozzarella bar. If you stop in for lunch you'll be introduced to an additional menu of burgers and paninis served with a side salad.

Due Forni's charcuterie platters make a great start for hungry tables.

On our visit, we started with the delicious Polpette platter of meatballs and moved on to the Due Forni pizza Neapolitan style.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the menu and are quick to offer suggestions to suit your taste buds' mood as well as wine pairings. The restaurant makes use of several Enomatic® wine dispensers, which allow them to offer over forty limited production wines by the glass.

An interior shot of the restaurant.

The trendy interior is dimly lit with rows of hanging Edison lightbulbs while the furnishings are a nice modern/classic mix with pops of brightly colored décor throughout. The walls feature collaged artwork with scenes from classic Italian films. In fact, Spaghetti Westerns and Italian crime dramas of the 60s and 70s are projected onto the walls behind the beautiful brick ovens. Conveniently located on the Congress/6th Street intersection, the restaurant is a great option for a night out at the bars.
