Don’t be fooled by Frank’s tagline “hot dogs cold beer” because they’re serving up a brunch that’s so much more.
Picnik, a paleo-friendly food trailer has been in business for two years and keeps getting better and better. What started out as a coffee trailer has evolved far beyond that and they now serve pre-made breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Extra! Extra! Brunching at Paperboy
The strip of restaurants and boutiques on East 11th has officially taken my heart by storm. Blue Dahlia Bistro, Franklin BBQ, and Hillside Farmacy are neighborhood favorites, and the boutiques Olive, Take Heart, and Mana Culture are also popular. It's a great street to spend a few hours on- getting cocktails, shopping, and then dining. And there's a new kid on the block that's one-upping everything nearby. Paperboy is a breakfast and brunch food trailer located on the newly landscaped and hardscaped corner of East 11th and Wheeless. Paperboy's kitchen can't be bigger than a closet, but their food is top notch. We stopped in for brunch recently and were blown away by how perfect our experience was!
Paperboy's scene is a pretty hip, a little eclectic, modern, and chill. It's a great place to meet for breakfast or brunch, grab a coffee and snack with a paper, or just to chill solo with a magazine while you eat.

Paperboy's landscaped and hardscaped lot - very hip
We stood, staring at the menu board, for what seemed like an hour. What do you do when you want literally every single thing? We exercised some self restraint and only ordered a few things, reassured by the suspcion that we'd be back soon to try the rest. We ordered the Steak & Egg, the Hash Bowl, and a side of greens (gotta work our veggies in somewhere!). As we paid for our order, we were offered a variety of newspapers to go with our coffee and fresh OJ. What a great little perk!
Menu at Paperboy
Our first item, fresh out of the kitchen! The Steak and Egg Sandwich - Wagyu hanger steak, sunny side up egg, and chimichurri mayo, on Brioche bread. Although this wasn't necessarily the tidiest sandwich to eat, the mess was well worth it! It was delicious- we loved that they toasted the bun, and every other ingredient was cooked to perfection. Even the finishing sprinkle of coarse salt was perfect. Size-wise, it's a pretty standard little burger, so if you're hungry, it's not crazy to order two or other menu items.
Steak & Egg Sandwich
Next up was the Breakfast Hash - roasted sweet potatoes, peppers and onions, a poached egg, bacon, and chile coffee mayo. Another ball knocked out of the park- this was awesome. It's easy to share, fun to build your own bites with the ingredients in the bowl, and super filling. At only $7, this is a steal. We highly recommend this bowl!
Paperboy also serves a slightly sweeter bowl- an oatmeal bowl with apple, granola, bacon, and coffee glazed poblano ($5).
Breakfast Hash
We originally ordered the side of green as an afterthought, but it was so refreshing, beautiful, and bright that we'd definitely order it again! For $3 you get this little bowl of salad greens with watermelon radish (so pretty!) and a lemon vinaigrette. It's such a complementary menu item to some of the heavier breakfast dishes. The watermelon radish is just such a subtle touch that make a huge difference in presentation, and that kind of attention to detail and effort did not go unnoticed.
Side of Green
On our next visit, we can't wait to try the Toast items and B.E.C.! We know we'll be back ASAP, so maybe we'll see you there.
