Fall Date Night Ideas

Austin's best season may be fall. The temperature's still warm enough to do all of your summer activities but cool enough to avoid breaking a sweat. Which means it's perfect date weather. Here are some of our suggestions for things to do with that special someone.

The scene at Hotel San José (via Facebook).

Have you checked out our Murals and Graffiti Tour? Posing for pics in front of some of Austin's most iconic street art can be lots of fun and helps build some great memories. Grab a snack and some coffee at Jo's where you can pose in front of their “I love you so much” mural. It's a little cliché at this point but can still paint a quirky and romantic portrait. Hotel San José is also a great nearby spot to lounge and have cocktails. Surrounded by greenery, their courtyard is the definition of beauty and can generate instant romance.

Sips and sweet bites from Dolce Vita (via Facebook).

Dolce Vita is a great spot to scoop up some gelato, dessert cocktails, and espresso. Their dimly lit interior offers mostly bistro seating, which gives you an excuse to get close. If you're looking for something a little more substantial to munch on, grab their cheese and meat plate or share one of their delicious paninis. When you've had your fill of the sweet life, consider taking a stroll around Hyde Park. The historic neighborhood creates the perfect romantic backdrop for walking hand in hand.

Pelóns' Queso Flameado and a margarita (via Facebook).

If you're the type of couple that enjoys the nightlife, consider going out to a show. No national acts in town tonight? Just stop into the Mohawk, which always has great bands. If you're feeling hungry, Pelóns is a trendy Mexican spot right around the corner. You can sip on some margaritas and try out their carnitas tacos.

Brunch offerings at Taverna (via Facebook).

Maybe you're more of an active couple who enjoys being outdoors together, why not go out early on a kayak? Hit up nearby Taverna for brunch. They serve up some yummy frittatas and omelets. Of course you can't forget their dollar mimosas and bellinis. The Bonneville is also on the southern end of downtown and makes a great brunch spot. We definitely recommend their popovers.

Hopefully these suggestions can help you on your next date night. What are some of your favorite date spots around town?
