Quality Seafood Market has been around for decades and continues to supply Austin with the freshest catches from all over the world. Go to the restaurant for the fresh oysters and dinner specials or visit the Market and take something home to cook yourself.

While there are tons of ritzy joints in town to get oysters (Perla's, Clark's, Parkside, to name a few), our favorite secret spot for oysters can be found off the beaten path in Round Rock.

The holidays have come and gone, and now it’s just cold and damp outside. Cure the winter blues with delicious food, brews, and football at Turf N’ Surf, famous for their po’boys, tacos, and nachos made with the freshest seafood.

A familiar Austin story, Turf N’ Surf began as a food trailer. The owner, Ralph, purchased a trailer made of 90% recycled material and the rest is history. The trailer now resides in The Picnic, a food truck trailer park located on Barton Springs. The restaurant has since expanded into more permanent digs inside The Lavaca Street Bar in Downtown Austin. Here you can order from the walk-up window while you and your friends enjoy watching the games.

We visited this past Sunday to watch back-to-back NFL games and try out the grub. We started off with the buffalo chicken nachos. Served with jalapenos, black beans, sour cream, pico and topped with blue cheese and buffalo chicken these nachos could serve a football team! Not only were they delicious, but the large portions make it a great appetizer option.

Next, we split the tacos. The fish rotates based on availability and freshness. We had the choice of: chilean sea bass, mahi mahi, snapper, ahi tuna, grouper, red fish, catfish and cod. We opted for the fried catfish tacos because Sunday’s a cheat day, right? The order came with two tacos dressed with mixed greens, slaw, cilantro, and cilantro-ranch dressing.

We were stuffed at this point, but another eye-catching dish was the naughty-cat po’Boy. This sandwich is served with catfish and bacon. The hushpuppies also looked delish. If you’re sticking to your New Year’s resolution still, you can order any fish grilled on top a bed of lettuce.

We can’t wait to go back next Sunday to do the same thing all over again, and try some other menu options too!
