Hill Country Vibes at Stanley's Farmhouse Pizza

What's not to love about a farmhouse-turned pizzeria next to a popular brewery, nestled in the heart of the Hill Country? Stanley's Farmhouse Pizza is located on the same property as Jester King Brewery and is about as quintessential Austin as it gets. Grab a table inside the shaded farmhouse, gather friends under the big oak trees for a game of cornhole, take a tour of Jester King brewery, or let your kids dig around the sand pit all while enjoying a hand-crafted pizza and cold brew.

Get in line for a pizza at Stanley's Farmhouse Pizza as soon as you arrive!

On one of Austin's signature beautiful days the place will be packed, but don't let the crowds deter you. There are plenty of gathering spaces and tables and tons of room for kids and dogs to run around and play. My best advice is to get in line to order pizza as soon as you arrive, as sometimes orders can take as long as 45 minutes for a single pie.

The Sparky, made with prosciutto and truffle oil

On our most recent visit we sampled the Sparky, a blend of red sauce, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, caramelized onions, and truffle oil. I basically can't resist any menu item that has caramelized onions so our second choice was the Ferdinand, a similar style but with fresh Italian sausage, mushrooms, and chili oil providing just the right amount of kick. The Ferdinand was the clear winner for me, and one I'd absolutely order again. Stanley's actually provides a glossary for their menu to help you zero in on the best option.

You can also purchase salads and dessert - and plan ahead since the line is typically long! If you're not in the mood for a brewery tour or tasting, you can order many types of craft beers from Stanley's, made easier by a drinks-only line.

Aside from being dog and kid friendly, Stanley's is also one of my favorite places to take out of town guests - note they are only open Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. You just can't beat the combination of craft beers, artisan pizza and hill country atmosphere.
