The Lion’s Nest is a hybrid art gallery, retail shop, and art-making studio that opened up in October on East 6th street. Co-owners Johanna Mueller and Katie Croft have filled the store with items they love made by friends or that they discovered on their travels. While there’s a big emphasis on art prints, cards, and stationery there’s plenty more available.

A new upscale boutique in West Austin will make you want to save up to add the perfect style statements to your holiday season wardrobe. Not only are the clothes to die for, but so is the interior design work you'll see inside!

The recently opened Love Ding brings unique and charming home goods to the ever-growing South Austin area. Owner Denise Roberts, born and raised in Austin, curates the shop with her favorite finds so you can accessorize and furnish your pad with ease.

A mix of new and old is what makes Love Ding one-of-a-kind. Fresh, bright, and brand-new textiles fill the open and airy shop. Take your pick from the wall of colorful blankets and throws to spruce up your sofa or bed. There is no shortage of funky pillows either. These cozy accessories create a comfortably lived-in feeling in any room.

You can score some vintage mid-century furniture here too. Roberts hunts and scours for pieces herself. My personal favorite is a floral print love seat accented with two foxy pillows. Not all the furniture is vintage. A portion is new, but with a mid-century flair. You can find the highly-coveted mid-century dining eiffel chair and the popular outdoor baby acapulco chair here too. Any piece of furniture at this local spot is a conversation starter.

Another one of my favorite parts of Love Ding is the artwork and paper goods. Unique prints hang throughout the store ready for purchase. I snagged a pretty french print that is now hanging in my office. Bonus points: it came already framed. Along with the pretty artwork is a surplus of greeting cards for every occasion.

A Collection of Paper Good Available

After visiting Love Ding, it is apparent it is truly a labor of love. I can’t wait to go back to see what’s new. Shop local and stop by to see for yourself. If you can’t wait, you can also shop online!
