Whether you’re looking for a “swift” weekday lunch, hip happy hour or late night grub, Swift’s Attic has just the thing.  And we’re not just talking your average sandwich and burger joint (though you can find those here, too) – the restaurant focuses on whimsical dishes that are sure to please.

I’ve dined at Swift’s Attic in the past for happy hour, enjoying small plates like the squid fries, shishito peppers or quirky edamame with pop rocks, so I was eager to check out their other menus.

We popped in during a busy weekday but had no trouble grabbing a table. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but there are a couple of nearby garages to choose from.  We started off our meal with the SA puffy tacos, served with pigtail carnitas, citrus and red onion relish, and grilled grapefruit. I’m not normally a fan of grapefruit, but this was a perfect accompaniment, making it a dish you won’t want to miss.  And good news – it’s also featured on the dinner menu (as are several of their snacks).

Swift’s Attic offers a great lunch special.  For just $8, you can enjoy a half sandwich with soup, salad or fries.  Who can resist the fries when they’re presented like this?

On our visit, we sampled the porkstrami (with jalapeno kraut, Russian dressing and fontina) and their Bowling Alley Burger (with melted fontina, griddled onion, and “fancy ass special sauce.”)  Both were extremely flavorful and exceeded our expectations.

Though you might feel a bit guilty chowing down on a burger mid-day, the lunch portion was just right.  However, if you have a bigger appetite, don’t miss Burger Night at Swift’s Attic on Monday nights at 9pm.  Only 12 burgers are made and then you’re out of luck!

Considering how pleased I was with our lunch, I plan to go back to check out the brunch menu and other signature dishes like the Popcorn and a Movie.
