If you find yourself in a mad shopping rush through the Domain, you’re obviously going to work up an appetite. Luckily, you can stop into Copper Restaurant and Dessert Lounge for a taste of contemporary American cuisine with a Texas twist, cocktails, and of course desserts.

Our meal kicked off with the Maryland Style Crab Cake.

Copper features a selection of dishes made with farm-to-table produce and artisanal meats that emphasize clean, simple flavors. For light snacking, or starting off with a shareable plate, you’ll find a Texas spin on favorites like the jalapeño garlic hummus or Texas Cuban sliders. The menu wouldn’t be Southern-inspired if you didn’t find staples like chicken fried chicken or macaroni and cheese (Copper’s version features white truffle oil, portobello mushrooms, and your choice of roasted chicken or pulled pork). Dishes that feature duck, quail, pork, and lamb chops round out the rest of the menu, giving you plenty to choose from.

The Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin was our favorite dish of the night.

Of course, you can’t dine at Copper without noshing on the sweets from their sister company Austin Cake Ball. If you find yourself full from your meal, take a half dozen (or more) to go in one of their beautiful copper tins.

Copper's menu includes the Southern classic Chicken Fried Chicken and mashed potatoes.

Copper’s not only a great choice for shopping sustenance but holds its own when it comes to Sunday brunch. Their menu includes southern-inspired fare like honey dipped fried chicken & biscuits, pulled pork & grits, and a southwest benedict which features a chipotle hollandaise sauce. If you’re looking for a sweet start to your day, you’ll definitely want to try the carrot cake pancakes (featuring candied pecans and sweet maple cream cheese butter) or créme brûlée french toast. The best part: for $10 you’ll be brought a bottle of champagne to your table side with three juices to mix your own mimosas.

Don't forget to get some cake balls to go!

From 4-7pm seven days a week, Copper boasts one north Austin’s best happy hours. Half off all appetizers, $6 craft cocktails and wine, discounted wine flights, and $3 beer. The specials even extend all night Monday and Tuesday, and from 9-11pm on Friday and Saturday.

Don't go hungry while shopping; stop into Copper Restaurant & Dessert Lounge during your next trip to the Domain!
