Thai Fresh is a neighborhood favorite and acts as equal parts restaurant, market, coffee shop and bakery. They've been serving up Thai favorites for 7 years now and luckily for us, they keep expanding their repertoire.

We’ve all been fans of the East Side King trailers and brick and mortar shop, but the latest addition to the family, Thai-Kun surprised everyone when Bon Áppetit named it one of the best new restaurants in the country.

After closing up shop for a year of renovations, Titaya's Thai Cuisine has finally reopened for business.

Sway was recently listed as one of the ten best new restaurants in Texas according to Texas Monthly, and we’re not going to argue.  Described as Thai food with an Australian influence, Sway is just another reason to head over to the trendy South 1st area for good eats and a cool atmosphere.

The interior of Sway stands out with an open kitchen and large, communal tables perfect for group dining or making new friends.  If it’s just a couple of you, we recommend sitting at the bar so you can watch the chefs in action.  The restaurant also boasts a private patio and indoor/outdoor seating near open windows.

The menu, served for both lunch and dinner, offers a wide selection of stir fry, curry, noodles and rice dishes with plenty of options for meat lovers, pescetarians and vegetarians alike.   We recommend starting off with a couple of appetizers or a light soup.

Po-pea jay - vegetable spring roll, avocado, vermicelli noodle, tomato vinegar

Moving on to heartier dishes, you absolutely cannot miss the Son in Law with crispy farm egg, braised pork shoulder, thick soy, and nahm prik pla.  We’re also big fans of the Tiger Cry (char-grilled hanger steak, red chili nahm jim, thai basil, fresno chile, toasted rice, nahm prik pao) and the blue crab fried rice with egg, lemongrass, ginger, snow pea, scallion, and thai basil.

The restaurant also offers a variety of unique desserts, like Thai tea affogato or their unique spin on a banana split.

Once you’ve given the entire menu a spin, try making a reservation for Moo Sway – a family style feast available twice a day that includes Thai pork shoulder, a dozen shucked oysters and more.
