Super Bowl 50 is quickly approaching and we’re breaking down the five best places around Austin to watch the big game. While it’s always a blast to get together at a friend’s house to see the two best teams go head-to-head, nothing beats heading out to one of Austin’s best sports bars to watch one team hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

Black Sheep Lodge
This neighborhood bar right on South Lamar is a popular local haunt for all televised sporting events, especially the Super Bowl. There’s a bunch of outdoor seating on the patio with multiple TVs and misters if it’s too warm or heaters if it’s too cold. Not only does Black Sheep have one of the best burgers in Austin, they’ll also be selling Brooklyn Lager at $2 a pint for the big game. In addition, Black Sheep also has shuffleboard, darts and pool tables for those not into the whole football thing.

Bar 96
If the weather holds out on Sunday, head over to Bar 96 at the top of Rainey Street. Bar 96 was one of the original Rainey Street hot spots and features plenty of outdoor seating and multiple TVs for a great view of the game. While you’re there, try out the Grapefruit Shandy featuring Deep Eddy Ruby Red Vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup and topped with hefeweizen. As one of the only bars on the street with TV’s, it’s sure to fill up fast so be sure to get there early and claim your spot.

Blackfinn boasts 50 beers on tap and both indoor and outdoor (dog friendly) seating. They’ll be featuring a special game day menu and offering $20 100oz. beer towers.

Haymaker, Black Sheep Lodge’s sister restaurant on the East Side, features “regionally inspired comfort sandwiches” that are unbelievably tasty. There are plenty of TVs throughout the restaurant and large tables to fit you and all of your friends. Haymaker will be offering $9 Brooklyn Lager pitchers throughout the game.

Go Team!
