Despite the fact that Austin has multiple bodies of water, there's a very limited number of restaurants that are on the water. However, in North Austin, there's a beautiful waterfront patio with your name all over it. We visited Roaring Fork Stonelake recently and had such a beautiful lunch on their patio with a panoramic view of Quarry Lake.

Hoping for a very leisurely lunch (who wants to leave a patio like that in a rush?), we ordered the guacamole and chips to start. But before they even arrived, our waiter dropped off these delectable cornbread muffins at our table. When the guacamole and chips arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was some of the best guacamole anyone at our table had tried recently in Austin. The gaucamole was the perfect amount of creamy with a great touch of lime.

Very impressive guac!

Roaring Fork's lunch menu has something for everyone. If you're looking for a casual meal, you can choose from a variety of sandwiches, burgers, or salads. Or venture for something a little more refined with by ordering one of their seafood or specialty meat entrees. We ordered:

Spit Roasted Chicken Breast Sandwich with Tomato, Spicy Slaw, Guacamole, Fries

Texas Two Step Combo: Mixed Greens Salad with Wood-Grilled Salmon and Potatoes

Roaring Fork's Signature Blackened Redfish with Whole Grain Pilaf, Smoked Tomatoes, Chipotle Tabasco Lemon Butter

and we couldn't pass up this indulgent side dish to share:

Green Chile Mac and Cheese

Roaring Fork also has a great wine and beer menu, so you can really take your time on the patio!

And here's a little known fact: Roaring Fork founders Larry Foles and Guy Villavaso have launched other award-winning restaurants to the southwest including Eddie V’s Edgewater GrilleHopdoddy (burgers, beers & shakes) and Salty Sow (delicious swine, wine & beer).
