Austin's pizza scene continues to grow with the opening of a new Italian restaurant on South Lamar, aRoma Italian Kitchen and Bar. A sign of our city's ever changing culture, this pizza place is located right next door to the legendary Broken Spoke in the brand new 704 Apartments complex.

aRoma - pizza

aRoma's Fuoco pizza has a slight kick with spicy capocollo and calabrese peppers.

The main focus of the menu is the Neapolitan style pizza, made with San Marzano tomatoes grown on the south side of Mt. Vesuvius and mozzarella made in house with milk from West Texas cows. A true melding of Texas and Italy. The pizza is baked in a beautiful Marra Forni wood-fired brick oven you can see in the middle of the restaurant. Some appetizers on the menu include the Brie con Funghi, warm brie cheese topped with mushrooms, and the Polpette, house made meatballs topped with melted mozzarella. Salads and pasta round out the menu along with a few rustic and modern dishes like the Bisteca - hanger steak with mushrooms, red wine braised leeks, and soft black pepper polenta.

The Radicchio pizza is a delicious vegetarian option.

An expansive wine list and Italian cocktails give you a delicious way to wash your meal down. There are playful takes on bar standards like the Italian Mule, the Vatican Rose (Reyka, St. Germain, and Cranberry), and A Drop of Lemon.

Share a small plate and some cocktails with friends on the patio.

The restaurant's interior is filled with natural light and plenty of polished reclaimed wood. Modern light fixtures and furniture set the stage of this Italian bistro. Inside is a great option for a casual date night. There's also a dog-friendly patio shaded by mature oak trees and colorful umbrellas. This makes a great choice for an evening dining with a group of friends.
