There's no better way to beat the heat than with a refreshing and festive beverage like a tiki drink. The lei and grass skirt are optional. Northloop spot drink.well. will be one of a few Austin bars participating in the third annual Texas Tiki Week, which celebrates tiki cocktails and culture. Here's a look at the week's events taking place at drink.well.

Tuesday June 24 – Texas Tiki Week Kick Off - 4pm-11pm
The week kicks off with an evening inspired by the finale of Michelle Pfeiffer classic Grease 2 and their “Rock a Hula Luau.” Five tiki cocktails will be served up including a clever take on a classic Pink Lady made with Old Tom Gin, Calvados and a spiced hibiscus grenadine. You might also like to try the “T-Bird,” a variation of a Jungle Bird with rhum agricole, pineapple gomme syrup, and aperol.

Wednesday June 25 -  Potions of the Caribbean – 4pm-11pm
The bar's staff have chosen their favorite cocktails from Potions of the Caribbean, the latest book by the Tiki expert Beachbum Berry

Thursday June 26 – Rum takes Flight! - 4pm-11pm
If you're still craving a sip of paradise, stroll in for tasting flights of four distinctive rums of varying styles and origins. For $12 each, flights consist of four 3/4oz pours.

Friday June 27 -  Daiquiri Night – 4pm-12am
drink.well. pays homage to one of the tiki's most famous though undoubtedly mocked cocktails, the daiquiri. There's no need to worry about a spiked slurpee here. Three varieties will be served including the Classic Daiquiri, made with Panamanian rum, fresh lime, and rich simple syrup, an Agricole Daiquiri, and a Banana Daiquiri.

Saturday & Sunday June 28/29 – Tiki Brunch – 12pm-4pm
If you've already been boozing through the week, might as well get an early start on your weekend. Angostura hosts brunch featuring a menu of tiki-inspired cocktails including tropical mimosas with passion fruit or guava juice and Tiki Milk Punch. The food menu will even include dishes made with Angostura bitters or rum.

Sunday June 29 – Punch Bowl Social – 4pm-11pm
drink.well. closes the week out by mixing up a tiki punch you can sip in your own cup or have served in a larger vessel to share with your buddies.

Other venues also serving up tiki cocktails throughout the week include the Tigress, Peché, Half Step, Pleasant Storage Room, Contigo Austin, East Side Showroom, Whisler’s, and Red7.
