A True Texas Experience

A tribute to his Texas upbringing, Stephan Pyles' Stampede 66 concept consistently delivers a true Texas experience and an incredible meal. The décor is a nod to all things Texan, featuring a tin roof, paintings of Texas cattle and an assortment of Longhorn sculptures. A large driftwood tree sits under a screen featuring the Texas sky, which changes from night to day and brings the feel of the Texas prairie inside.  The Lone Star State is also highlighted through impressive art work and photographs, all of which contribute to the warm, inviting, and unique ambiance.

The menu is an innovative blend of traditional Texas and Mexican dishes, like Chicken-fried Buffalo Steak and Smoked Pork Belly with Esquites. Tables are cozy and spacious, and the wait staff was attentive and helpful in making the incredibly tough decision of which delicious bocaditos and tamales to try.  

To start, try one of the Canyon Ranch frozen margaritas, made tableside with liquid nitrogen. It pairs excellently with the slightly spicy and flavorful Sweet Potato and Wild Boar Barbacoa Tamale and the Chicken Adobo Tacos.

For dinner, in true Pyles fashion, each dish has its own personality.  The Barbecued Brisket has a spicy, smoky crust that pairs well the cool and creamy potato salad.

Stampede's Honey-Fried Chicken is crispy on the outside, and with help from an injection of honey, deliciously sweet and tender on the inside. Accompanying the chicken are flaky buttermilk biscuits and golden mashed-potato tots, an innovative and scrumptious spin on a classic dish.

There are six incredible dessert offerings, each one more mouth-watering than the last.  If available, ask for the special Apple Crisp, served in a decorative pie crust and topped with homemade ice cream. It is a wonderful combination of sweet and tart.

Topped with homemade cinnamon ice cream and caramel sauce, the Apple Crisp is a must-try.
