If you're craving flavorful and bold Middle Eastern cuisine in a beautifully exotic and enticing atmosphere, Baboush in West Village is the place for you. Their menu is divided into dips, salads, small plates, and large plates and all their spices are imported from souk markets in Morocco and Lebanon. They use only fresh, local, and organic ingredients so its no surprise that each item on the menu is exceptional. No matter what your appetite, Baboush has something truly delicious to satisfy everyone.

When we arrived at Baboush in the evening, there were tables directly outside the restaurant stacked with hookahs and beautiful people sipping beautifully vibrant drinks also known as "sexy cocktails." Its swanky yet comfortable vibe is perfect for date night. If you're in to small dinner shows, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights Baboush features violinists and belly dancers who perform around 8 pm.

Lebanese Night {Vodka, Guava Nectar, Strawberry, Lime}

Cucumber Delight {Gin, Cucumber, Lemon, Crushed Mint}

Their "sexy drink" menu features Martinis and Cocktails all made with fresh squeezed juices. Our waiter recommended the Lebanese Night which was sweet and delicious, perfect for warm summer evenings as its namesake alluded. The Cucumber Delight was a superbly refreshing elixir and made for a perfect palate transition into dinner. If little sexy drinks are not your thing, their wine list has quite the selection as well.

The Dip Platter

The Dip Platter appetizer is a must order. There is no doubt that this is one of the most delicious trays of assorted dips I have ever had. Each dip had its own personality from the classic hummus that was anything but simple, to the rose water infused tomato puree spread. The tray also included a Greek yogurt dip infused with the flavorful and exciting souk market spices and the pomegranate baba ganoush was extraordinary.  Accompanied by fluffy and warm naan bread, this platter is reason enough to try Baboush.

Lamb Chops

Grilled Shrimp Kebabs

Our entrees came quickly. I had the Lamb Chops and the sauce was incredible. It was thick, rich and with complete depth of flavor. Sweet plantain and yucca accompanied the lamb as well as a melt in your mouth goat cheese fritter. The tastes complimented each other effortlessly. We also ordered the Grilled Shrimp Kebabs that were dry rubbed with a Moroccan seafood spice that gave them quite the kick. The rice pilaf was a flavorful addition to mellow our taste buds.

Whether you come for the drinks, the appetizers, the dinner or the entertainment, Baboush Restaurant & Bar will exceed your highest expectations. Take the trolley and a date or some friends and come enjoy all that Baboush has to offer.
