When the weekend rolls around in Dallas, brunch becomes an important meal. Luckily, the city is full of awesome brunch spots, including Uptown’s City Council. This local bar and restaurant combo offers a lengthy brunch menu filled with a variety of tempting drinks and dishes. From breakfast-food classics to inventive house creations, City Council’s menu has something to please almost anybody.

Brunch isn’t brunch without drinks, so City Council’s cocktail menu is the first place you should look when you visit. Classic Mimosas and Bloody Marys are solid choices, but the Lone Star Belle is a refreshing standout that’s perfect for day-drinking, thanks to a bright blend of vodka, raspberry-peach liquor, elderflower liquor, and fresh lemon juice.

The Lone Star Belle is light, refreshing, and just strong enough to give your brunch a little kick.

The food menu at City Council is just as tempting as the drink menu, and there are tons of delicious dishes to choose from when making a brunch selection. The Council Man is an ideal option if you’re looking for a hearty meal, because it’s a large biscuit sandwich that perfectly blends sweet and savory breakfast flavors into one balanced dish. For something lighter, try one of City Council’s inventive boozy cereals, which use booze-infused milk to spice up a regular bowl of cereal.

When it comes to breakfast sandwiches, City Council's Council Man is hard to beat.

If you’re not quite in the mood for breakfast food, City Council still has you covered. The Pinch of Yum is one example of a brunch offering that isn’t all breakfast; it features a zesty blend of chorizo, veggies, salsa, and tortilla strips topped with a fried egg and queso fresco. The dish has a kick, but it’s the perfect way to liven up your day with a little spice.

The Pinch of Yum is the perfect selection if you're looking for something savory and spicy.

City Council has ample indoor space for dining, but the real brunch magic happens on the spacious patio out back. For an ideal experience, snag an outdoor table, and enjoy your meal in the open air. Be aware that the brunch crowd starts to gather as the day goes on, so your best bet is to get there early, which just means you’ll have more time to enjoy your meal.
