Cane Rosso's Pizza is Hard to Top

Cane Rosso may just serve the best pizza in Dallas. Yes, that is a very bold statement, but the Italian authenticity, quality ingredients, and superb taste are hard to beat. And one of the best things about Cane Rosso is that it is more than just a pizza joint.

There are now four locations across the metroplex, a sign of its popularity and growing cult of pizza followers. The newest location in Fairview just opened, so now those pizza lovers won’t have to drive far for their favorite slice.

The restaurant serves hand-stretched, certified authentic Neapolitan pizza that is cooked for only one minute in the 900 degree wood-burning oven. The oven itself is a centerpiece for the restaurant and allows customers to watch just how quickly their san marzano tomato sauce, fresh house made mozzarella, and imported “double zero” Italian flour turn into a perfectly bubbly pie. The crust has a slightly sweet flavor and is paper thin, allowing the dough to remain soft, reminiscent of the best pizzas in Italy.

Some of the favorite pizzas include the Zoli and the Delia. The Zoli pizza is topped with local sausage, hot soppressata, hand-crushed san marzanos, basil, and house-made mozzarella. The soppressata is spicy and the tomatoes sweet, combining to be the perfect counterparts. The Delia pie is one of their most unique; topped with a spicy bacon marmalade, tomatoes, and arugula. The salty marmalade pairs with the bitter arugula to make every bite crave-worthy.

Cane Rosso isn’t all about the pizza, however. We would be remiss not to mention the incredible sandwiches, salads, and pasta. In particular, if you find yourself at the restaurant on a Friday or Saturday night, make sure to order the Meatball Lasagna. Flavorful meatballs, creamy béchamel sauce, and thick lasagna noodles make up one of the most incredible lasagna dishes you will ever try. It is so good that the staff is restricted from eating it until after all guests leave, as it often sells out before the night is over.

Cane Rosso is also open for brunch, serving delicious breakfast pizzas and sandwiches to go along with their $1 mimosas. The atmosphere at Cane Rosso is fun and laid back, a great place to watch a football game or share a dinner or brunch with friends. They run several specials, including Pecan Lodge Tuesdays, in which the pizza special utilizes meat from Pecan Lodge and local veggies. They also have 2 for $22 lunches Tuesday – Friday, and guests can score 2 beverages, 1 salad and 1 pizza for $22.

We love every one of the Cane Rosso locations for so many different reasons: the friendly people, the no fuss atmosphere, and the over-the-top delicious Italian fare. Head to your nearest location (Deep Ellum, White Rock Lake, and Fort Worth in addition to the previously mentioned Fairview), soon to see for yourself if this pizza just may be your favorite in Dallas, too.
