Craft & Growler Is A Beer Lover's Oasis

Last week, I realized that despite nearly half a decade of self-confessed beer geekery, I’ve never actually enjoyed a growler fill.  Horrified, I decided to remedy that immediately. The cure was a little place called Craft & Growler.

It’s a hybrid of sorts, functioning as a pub, bottle shop, and growler fill station.  It just so happens to be located directly across from Fair Park (and a very handy DART station for those who don’t want to drive). Walking in, you get a cozy, friendly vibe right off the bat. The long wooden tables and benches are perfect for large groups.  There’s also some comfy chairs and a couch or two. But enough about all that. Let’s talk about beer.

The taplist is basically a who’s who of Texas craft.  Dallas favorites like Deep Ellum, Lakewood and Peticolas are well represented, along with superb out-of-towners like Ranger Creek, Live Oak, and Jester King. That’s not to say there aren’t some nice out-of-state options too, but the focus here is Texas, hombre.

A Build-Your-Own-Flight option is available, which is handy if you’re curious about something but don’t want to put a ring on it.

Plus, it’s all done with an order-by-number system. The whole thing is very efficient.

So you’ve heard about the “Craft”. Now you’re wondering about the “Growler”.  Most everything is available for growler fills to go. Don’t have a growler? No big deal. A wide variety of shapes and sizes are available for purchase.  They’ll keep your precious suds fresh for upwards of two weeks, and 24-48 hours once you pop the top.

All in all, Craft & Growler is a stylish one-stop shop for beer lovers. I can’t recommend it enough.
