Dallas welcomes Austin's Tacos and Tequila this month, offering Uptown a new place for happy hour, tacos, and late night drinks. Tacos and Tequila, also known as TNT, is located in the Quadrangle and features urban and contemporary decor, a large bar with seating, and a beautiful upstairs rooftop open late on the weekends.

TNT Frozen Margarita

Obviously, TNT excels in tequila cocktails. They feature everything from margaritas with a twist and tequila flights to tequila tap and infusions. The Tequila Flights looked phenomenal, with Coach, Business, or First Class options, as well as a Smoking Section and Featured Flight selection. With each flight, patrons receive three shots of premium tequila and a sangrita chaser.

If you're looking for a great happy hour, you won't want to miss the delicious $4 TNT Frozen Margaritas, available Monday through Friday from 4-7 pm, with $1.50 Street Tacos available until 6:30 pm.

Chips and Salsa Trio

Queso Flight-Spinach and Artichoke, Beef Chorizo, Classic

You're greeted with a bag full of warm blue and white corn tortilla chips and sweet potato chips with a salsa trio featuring avocado tomatillo, smoky and chunky tomato, and guajillo chile mayonnaise. The crisp, sweet potato chips with the guajillo chile mayonnaise were a perfect combination. Our table's bag was empty within 5 minutes. To start your meal, we recommend the Queso Flight because having to choose just one between the four options is unjust. Our three selections included the Classic, Beef Chorizo, and Spinach Artichoke. Another tasty snack is the Good Karma Guacamole. It's mixed-to-order guacamole, and fifty cents of every order benefits the Dallas Companion Animal Project. Great guac for a great cause!

Pulled Pork and Grilled Chicken Street Tacos

Buffalo Chicken Southwestern Salad

TNT has a large selection of different proteins served in a street taco, burrito, skewer, salad wrap, or salad. There are many choices of protein such as Buffalo Chicken, Ahi Tuna, Corn Crusted Chicken, Chimichurri Beef Tenderloin, Southwest Veggie, and more. We loved the idea of being able to mix and match between proteins and preparation style. If you're looking for something already designed, try one of the specialty platter items, such as the Taco/Skewer Special or the Vegetable Platter

Being a new restaurant, TNT is still working on slow service issues, but the food, drinks, and friendly servers will not disappoint. Next time, we'll be heading in for their weekend brunch buffet, featuring guacamole, enchiladas, a build-your-own taco bar, mimosas, and more. Whether it's for happy hour, dinner, late night drinks, or brunch, we think Tacos and Tequila will find plenty of love in Uptown.
