When you are craving southern comfort food, your first thought should be Ellen's Southern Kitchen & Bar. Located in the heart of Downtown Dallas, this gem is a solid go-to spot for breakfast and brunch due to their popular breakfast menu they serve all day.

To start off your morning, look no further than Ellen's full coffee menu, featuring seasonal treats such as the Pumpkin Spice Latte. From espressos and americanos to macchiatos and hot teas, this spot has every drink you need to perk up your senses and start your day.

If you are looking for a dish on the lighter side, but still has a kick of Southern flair, then the Crunchy 'Maters Salad is for you. While most people do not consider salad as a comfort food, the Crunchy 'Maters, featuring crispy southern fired red tomatoes, goat cheese, and a balsamic reduction, will make you think otherwise.

Using both fresh produce and crispy fried tomatoes, the Crunchy 'Maters is a guilty-free southern treat.

For a heartier meal, try the Eggs Benedict. The poached eggs and homemade hollandaise sauce pair perfectly with either your choice of protein, or the surprisingly delicious tomato and avocado option. If you have a craving for cheesy grits, order the Grits Benedict. Ellen's eggs benedicts are both flavorful and flexible to satisfy any taste palate.

The Eggs Benedict comes with your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage pattiesa protein anyone can enjoy.

If you are in the mood for comfort food, or want to grab a drink at the bar, Ellen's has you covered. To avoid a long wait, try stopping by either before or after the brunch rush. The move to their swankier digs offers more seating than the old location but there is still an expected wait for brunch peak hours. Tip: try to snag a seat at the bar where they offer open seating - you might get lucky!
