Walking into Boulevardier is like walking into a quaint French bistro off a side street in the Bishop Arts District. Exposed brick walls, a large open bar, and a wall-to-wall wine shelf greet you as you are transported to France for a few hours. It isn’t a large restaurant, so it feels cozy and local whether you stop in for a drink or sit down for dinner.

Boulevardier has a great wine list with many affordable options that don’t compromise on quality. And the cocktail list is creative and approachable. The table favorite was the Belle Femme, which is a combination of vodka, St. Germain, zip code honey, hibiscus, lemon and bubbles. Its slightly fruity taste masked how strong it was which made it easy to order another one…or two.

The menu is comprised of many classic French items, including French Onion Soup, Oysters, and Hanger Steak Frites. Their charcuterie is house made and would be the perfect complement to one of their many wines by the glass. There are multiple options that are not as classically French, including the Crawfish Beignets, Tate Farms Grass Fed Burger, and the Berkshire Pork Chop. Every item we tried was beautifully presented and very flavorful.

Boulevardier takes reservations and has valet for a small charge, which is convenient in the crowded parking area of Oak Cliff. The restaurant is open for dinner, is closed on Mondays, and serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The brunch menu includes items like Quiche, Croque Madame, House-Cured Lox, and Steak Frites and Eggs. This bistro is sure to please any crowd of friends.
