The Lakewood neighborhood is home to a fun, dog-friendly, hangout serving up delicious specialty burgers and Texas-brewed beer. Goodfriend Beer Garden and Burger House is a hot spot with indoor and outdoor seating, great service, and a casual atmosphere.

You can enjoy Goodfriend's covered patio no matter the weather.

If you want a beer with your burger, Goodfriend has an ever-changing selection of craft beer including a number of offerings from D-FW area breweries. The Four Corners “Local Buzz” was a great compliment to our meal because its light flavor. The bar also offers wine and a number of cocktails. The drink menu is always being updated with new choices, so be sure to ask your server for the most up to date list.

Local Buzz from Oak Cliff's own Four Corners Brewery is one of the many Dallas-brewed beers available.

JCBC (one of the chef-recommended appetizer choices) is short for chicken stuffed with jalapeno and cheese then wrapped up into a bacon-covered ball. This appetizer is not for the faint of heart (or those averse to high cholesterol)! It is served with ranch or ghost pepper ranch if you like a little heat with your chicken and bacon. There are lighter options such as house made Hummus and a cheese board featuring cheese from Scardello.

JCBC stands for "Jalapeno, Cheese, Bacon, and Chicken". Don't forget the ranch!

If you are looking for an average, plain burger, Goodfriend may not be the place for you. Even their Cheeseburger stands out with white cheddar and sweet horseradish pickles. The Morning Glory boasts white cheddar, a sunny side up egg, and bacon (hence the name). The way all of those flavors blend with Goodfriend’s delicious beef patty makes it worthy of the name.

The Morning Glory burger complete with a fried egg and a side of sweet waffle fries.

Goodfriend also offers alternatives to a beef burger; request a chicken, turkey, or a veggie patty to make any burger your own. The Foka is a lamb burger served with a beautiful grilled bell pepper, onion, tangy tzatziki, and plentiful arugula. Side items are served a la carte and we must recommend you try the sweet waffle fries made with sweet potato. With their perfect crunch and a generous sprinkle of coarse sea salt, these fries put most other french fries to shame.

There is a delicious lamb burger under that arugula! Try the Foka if you don't want a beef burger.

Goodfriend lives up to its name. It is a relaxing place to spend the afternoon or evening with great food that should be enjoyed with friends.
