Kenny's Wood Fired Grill

The restaurant scene in Dallas is exciting, vibrant and ever-changing. Foodies chase the new and unique for the ultimate gastric experience and we are satisfied at every turn. But sometimes, we forget about the chef-driven restaurants that have been doing it right for years. We loved Kenny's Wood Fired Grill when it opened eight years ago and frequented it often, gorging on the hot, flaky popovers and appreciating the grilled steak and seafood options coming out of the bustling kitchen. We then were treated to Kenny's Burger Joint in Frisco, followed by Kenny's Italian Kitchen and in the last year, Kenny's Smoke House in Plano. With the advent of the food scene in Oak Cliff, Uptown and the Knox-Henderson area we had forgotten about this spot in Addison that started it all. Stopping in for lunch reminded us of why Kenny's Woodfire Grill is a popular place!

Flaky Popovers

You just can't say "no" to the complimentary just-out-of-the-oven popovers. We find some popovers can be too "eggy" but these are buttery and flaky-perfect to melt the little pat of butter that accompanies it.

Steak Sandwich

Sure, Kenny's is known for the grilled steak and seafood but they also have great salads and sandwiches. A Classic Wedge is a showstopper with Tomato, Onion, Smoked Bacon and Bleu Cheese Dressing. You could also add Tenderloin for a satisfying entree salad. The Steak Sandwich is comprised of sliced Tenderloin, Sauteed Onions, and a melty Brie Cheese on a grilled Ciabatta. It comes with a side of Demi-Glace and Horseradish Sauce but we asked for a side of their Wasabi Aioli in addition because, well, we can't get enough of it and it seems to go with everything!

Chicken with Sundried Tomato and Basil Pesto

The Cajun Spiced Redfish has been a long-time favorite dish, with Shrimp, Avocado and Lemon Butter. This time we ordered the Chicken that came with Sundried Tomatos, Basil Pesto, Artichokes, Mushrooms, Walnuts and Goat Cheese. What a great combination of flavors!

In additon to lunch and dinner, Kenny's Wood Fired Grill also has a Sunday Brunch with "Custom" Bloody Marys. And for you late night diners, Kenny's Wood Fired Grill is serves up delicious fare all the way till midnight Tuesday through Saturday nights so there's no excuse not to stop into this Addison staple and fall in love with it all over again!
