Maru Ramen brings authentic ramen to the Richardson suburb. Hidden in a corner of a strip center, Maru Ramen is simple on the outside as well as inside. Clean and minimalistic décor provide a calming atmosphere and allow you to focus on the real deal - the ramen.

Spicy Edamame

Pork Buns

Ramen may be their specialty, but Maru Ramen’s appetizers are just as delicious. Start with the Pork Buns; steamed buns filled with tonkotsu braised pork belly and house sauce. There's two per order so you may want to order a few; they’re too good to share. The Spicy Edamame had the perfect amount of kick and makes a great accompaniment to the pork buns. Other appetizer choices are Fried Tofu, Pot Stickers and Seaweed Salad. If you're looking for a glass of wine or beer, unfortunately Maru doesn't serve alcohol.

Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen

The ramen was the highlight of our meal. Offering Tonkatsu, Vegetarian, Spicy, Creamy Miso and more it was difficult to finalize our order. A spicy option always catches our eye so we tried the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen. The noodles are the famous Nishiyama Noodles imported from Japan, topped with braised pork belly, boiled soy egg, scallions, pickled ginger and shredded seaweed. The Spicy Tonkatsu comes with a spicy sauce in the broth so if you're hesitant we suggest asking for it on the side. Once we picked up our spoon it's safe to say it wasn't set down till the bowl was empty.

Tempura Bananas

We love to end our meal on a sweet note so we indulged in the Tempura Bananas. The tempura batter was perfectly crisp and the ice cream and raspberry syrup added an extra sweetness.

Though Maru Ramen's decor is simple, their food is far from plain. Enticing our palates with bold flavors and fantastic options, we can't wait to make it our new go-to ramen shop.
