You may have heard the buzz about Dallas’ latest fast-casual eatery, The Halal Guys. Does it live up to the hype? We vote yes, and it’s only been open a little over a month.

The NYC food cart turned brick-and-mortar franchise has arrived in the Cedar Springs neighborhood, right on Lemmon Ave. There is often a line, but it tends to move quickly. This new Middle Eastern hot spot serves up chicken, gyro meat and falafel platters, wraps, sides and baklava. Plan your trip around the busy times - they’re open 11 am-11 pm, daily and go until 2 am Friday and Saturday nights. Want your food delivered? The Halal Guys uses the app Caviar to take orders and deliver them right to your doorstep.

Halal Guys is worth the wait.

Need a little appetizer or side to eat while dining in or want one to take home? Try the tahini or hummus (both served with pita) or grab some fries for dipping in white sauce.

Pick up some extra hummus for the week. Chances are, you'll be back for more.

All platters (small or regular) are served with your choice of meat or falafel, rice, pita, lettuce, tomatoes and their signature white sauce and hot sauce. For our first visit, we tried the combo (chicken and gyro beef) and added falafel. The meat is tender and juicy, and the falafel is crispy and packed with flavor.

The white sauce and hot sauce are fantastic additions, but be aware, the hot sauce is very hot.

The wraps come with the same options as the platters but without rice. They’re great for one person, and you can eat them as a wrap or unfold it and eat it open-faced.

We suggest using two hands and lots of napkins when eating the sandwich.

Make your trip complete by having the flaky and sweet baklava for dessert. With it displayed right by the register, we dare you to try and say, "no."

We may not be on the streets of Manhattan, but you can still dine al fresco on the umbrella-covered tables of their outdoor patio. Whether it's lunch, dinner or a late night treat, The Halal Guys is always a good choice for a flavorful experience.
