Oddfellows is known to be a popular staple of Dallas’ Bishop Arts District, and all it takes is one visit to understand why. Thanks to a varied menu full of modern twists on classic Southern dishes and a laid-back atmosphere, this restaurant offers something for every diner.

Oddfellows is a popular favorite among fans of Dallas' Bishop Arts District.

The decor is rustic yet sophisticated; an eclectic mix of natural wood and vintage items lend a casual atmosphere ideal for social dining. There’s no shortage of natural light thanks to walls of windows that swing open to let in a breeze on nice days. Although there’s usually a wait for a table, it’s not for lack of seating, but rather because of the delicious food that makes this spot so popular. But when the weather is nice, the wait won’t seem so bad if you grab a place at the bar, which features extra outdoor seating when the windows are open.

A delicious combo of fresh-squeezed juice and plenty of champagne make Oddfellows' mimosa a go-to choice.

Oddfellows has a menu for any meal, from breakfast to dinner. However, they’re best known for being an ideal brunch choice, especially on the weekends. Start with a mimosa – Oddfellows makes them right, with fresh-squeezed OJ and a heavy pouring of champagne. When it comes to food, their menu is stacked with a variety of solid choices that are sure to satisfy. You’ll definitely see a few plates of the Fried Chicken and Waffles being served; they’re the perfect selection for an ultra-filling brunch. Their Pancakes are similarly filling, thanks to their massive size and fine dusting of powdered sugar. The red velvet variety are the most popular choice, but they also offer rotating daily recipes, and the banana pancakes are a confirmed delight when they’re available.

If you’re in the mood for something savory, try the Duck Chilaquiles, which feature a perfectly fried egg alongside a delectable duck confit, all served atop a bed of tortilla chips. Ask your server to add sour cream to take this dish to the next level. The Buffalo Mac n’ Cheese, which Oddfellows is known for, is a flavorful twist on the classic comfort food. It packs a bit of bite thanks to the spicy buffalo chicken, but that’s nothing a good Mimosa or Bellini can’t fix.

The Duck Chilaquiles offer a unique twist on a classic Tex-Mex breakfast.

The Buffalo Mac n' Cheese adds a spicy kick to a Southern staple dish.

Their bar offers the usual selection of beer and wine, enhanced by a variety of local brews and cocktails sure to provide plenty of boozy enjoyment. They’re also known for brewing a mean cup of coffee, and they offer loose-leaf teas if that’s how you prefer to get your caffeine fix. Don’t forget about dessert; they serve a Chocolate Bacon Waffle Sundae that might just convince you that bacon and chocolate were made for each other.

Although it’s usually busy, Oddfellows is worth the wait. Get there early to snag a table, or put your name on their waiting list and enjoy the rest of Bishop Arts while you wait; they’ll send you a text when your spot’s ready. Plan your visit for a nice day, and enjoy relaxing with some of the best brunch Bishop Arts has to offer. Whether you sit inside or outside, you’ll surely be glad you came.
