At LocalSugar we eat lots of salads! There are great options at all of our best loved eateries but we wanted to share our absolute favorite salads in the city that are our "go-to" when we crave an entree filled with greens. Let us know if these are your faves too!

Newporter Salad at R+D Kitchen {Photo R+D Facebook}

Grab a barstool at R+D Kitchen and chat it up with one of the friendly bartenders while you enjoy this signature salad. Mixed Greens, Rotisserie Chicken, Apples, White Cheddar, Bacon, Chopped Egg and Cashews in a Bacon Vinaigrette is filling yet still feels like you're eating healthy.

Mercury Salad at The Mercury

The Mercury at Preston and Forest has a fantastic salad menu but the one that knocks our socks off is the Mercury Salad. A crisp salad bowl holds jumbo Lump Crabmeat, Shrimp, Bacon, Tomato, Avocado, Bread and Grilled Shrimp. You can choose between Honey Mustard, 1000 Island Dressing or our favorite, the Mercury Dressing, which is Roquefort Vinaigrette.

Al's Salad at Al Biernat's

Amazing salads to choose from at Al Biernat's when we are watching our red meat intake and not indulging in one of their fantastic steaks. There's a Spinach Salad, Greek Salad, Grilled Prawn Salad and Lobster Cobb among others but the one we gravitate toward is the Al's Salad. Splurge on a mixture of Hearts of Palm, Avocado, Shrimp and Crab with either a Russian Dressing or Garlic Vinaigrette.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken Cobb at The Porch

This is a salad that we would literally take to our bed for days if they ever took it off the menu. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Cobb at The Porch is that good! Besides the aforementioned Buttermilk Fried Chicken, this salad has Tomatoes, Avocado, Applewood Smoked Bacon and Blue Cheese and topped with Toasted Honey Mustard Dressing. Take it home if you can't finish it but it will be hard not to eat it all in one sitting.

Grilled Chicken Salad at Houston's

Mixed Greens, Jicama, Shaved Grilled Chicken, Carrots, Corn, Tortilla Strips coated in a Honey-Lime Vinaigrette and Peanut Sauce makes for one of the most popular salads in Dallas! For as long as Houston's has been in town, this salad has been garnering fans who enjoy it with a glass of wine and great conversation, whether it's with friends or the friendly servers at the warm and inviting bar.
