Summer Happiness From Steel City Pops

The sunniest season of the year has officially begun, and that means enjoying some of our favorite summer foods and drinks. Popsicles are one of the most beloved summer refreshments, but this year, we’re happy to skip the freezer section at the grocery store and head to Steel City Pops. One of Lower Greenvilles newest and most exciting additions, handmade pops are whipped up in small batches at this family-owned shop. Using the freshest all-natural or certified organic ingredients {locally-harvested where possible} and sweetened with raw, organic sugar cane, you need not feel guilty about this tasty, warm-weather treat.

The owner hails from Alabama and together with his mom, created all of the initial mouthwatering recipes. He also credits his wife and children with helping make his dream come true. You’ve got to love a real family business!

When you stroll into this cool shop, you’ll get to choose from 20+ flavors divided into “Creamy” and “Fruity” selections. Creamy flavors include indulgences like avocado, caramel, and chocolate chili. On the fruity side, find refreshment in blueberry basil, sweet tea, watermelon, and more. Between the more classic flavors like strawberry or chocolate and more unique flavors like pineapple jalapeno or cherry sour cream, we had a difficult time deciding. We asked the staff for some recommendations based on our preferences, and they were more than happy to provide some guidance.

You’ll notice many customers settle on the front patio to enjoy their popsicles, and it’s quite a popular hangout. Fitting for many occasions, you’ll see folks in everything from workout clothes to dinner dresses, and crowds from business men to families.

The patio is a happening spot on any night.

It's a popular destination for the whole family!

If this cutie loves the avocado flavor, so will you!

A visit to Steel City Pops also makes for a perfect end to a date night at one of the many popular eateries nearby. Have dinner at Teppo, The Blind Butcher, HG Sply Co., or Nora and then make the short walk to Steel City Pops. Grab your dessert and take an evening stroll.

Stop by any day of the week beginning at noon, but be sure to arrive before 10pm on Sunday-Thursday and before 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Steel City Pops will open in Fort Worth soon, so Cowtowners stay tuned!
