Lakewood’s new eatery, The Heights, is serving up delicious brunch to help start your weekends on the right foot. This small, quiet spot is a great place to grab a laid back brunch with friends.

A custom egg scramble with tomato, onion, and mushrooms is a hearty start to the morning.

The Heights’ breakfast menu isn’t long, but it has great choices. You can have a classic Basic Breakfast, Lakewood Migas with chorizo and queso fresco, or Bagel and Lox. If you don’t see exactly what you want on the menu, you can make your own scramble and fill it with whatever your heart desires. We loved the custom scramble with onion, mushroom, and tomato. All scrambles are served with a side of toast, fruit, and savory rosemary potato hash.

There’s something about Saturday mornings and pancakes that just go perfectly together. At The Heights, we must recommend the Toasted Oatmeal Granola Pancakes, served in a short stack or a full stack. Even the short stack is piled high, topped with granola, berries, whipped butter, and a generous pour of caramel apple syrup.

The short stack of Toasted Oatmeal Granola Pancakes is simply amazing.

These cakes are hearty and sweet, so you will definitely want some coffee to go with them. The great wait staff will keep your mug warm and topped off. The Heights' coffee is locally roasted at Full City Rooster, a coffee roaster in downtown Dallas. And as with any true brunch, mimosas and other boozy options are available.

The Heights proudly serves coffee from local roaster Full City Rooster.

A display case filled with pastries and baked goods is ready if you prefer breakfast on the go.

If you need a breakfast on the go, they offer a variety of pastries, bagels from La Spiga bakery, and house-baked muffins. If you are a late riser, you can also enjoy lunch and dinner here when the menu takes on a Southern spin.

The Heights is easy to find at the corner of Gaston and Abrams and is a great addition to the Lakewood restaurant scene. Stop in on your next free weekend. It'll make for a pleasant morning and a happy belly.
