From its original inception in Seattle, Top Pot Doughnuts has always been slightly unique. Where other doughnut shops skip over the details, Top Pot has gained popularity – and a national following – thanks to their devotion to authentic, delicious doughnuts made the old-fashioned way. Their cafes are dedicated to providing customers with a gourmet breakfast experience with a vintage aesthetic, and their newest location on Greenville Avenue is no exception.

Top Pot's newest location is situated in a prime spot on Lower Greenville.

Although Top Pot’s menu revolves around one item, there’s no shortage of variety. They’re proud to offer more than forty different types of doughnuts, and because many are served on a rotating basis, don’t be surprised to find a new option every time you visit. A few varieties, like the delicious Old Fashioned, could be considered Top Pot standbys; they’re some of their most popular flavors, and for good reason. Their recipe is a secret, but it mimics classic doughnut recipes of the past, and you can taste the difference: their doughnuts are sweet, perfectly raised, and glazed to delectable perfection.

Old Fashioneds are a must-try at Top Pot, thanks to their secret recipe dough and baking process.

For a true Top Pot experience, we definitely recommend you try at least one of their Glazed Old Fashioned varieties, be it classic, chocolate, or one of their more inventive flavors, like seasonal pumpkin. They’re slightly crunchy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside, and they’re part of what sets Top Pot apart from other run-of-the-mill doughnut shops. Add a little color to your breakfast by pairing it with a Chocolate Rainbow; their secret-recipe raised dough makes for a better, sweeter sprinkled doughnut. Or try one of their Fritters – we recommend the blueberry variety if it’s available – but be warned that they’re large and deliciously filling.

The Chocolate Rainbow is sweet, colorful, and delicious.

The Cinnamon Sugar Raised pairs perfectly with a cup of Top Pot's specialty coffee.

You can’t really go wrong with any other selection on the menu, but if you’re a fan of classic raised doughnuts, the Cinnamon Sugar Raised is definitely worth a try. It’s not quite as sweet as some of the glazed varieties, which makes it a perfect accompaniment to a cup of Top Pot’s hand-roasted specialty coffee. They serve a selection of handcrafted hot and cold brews and sell coffee by the bag as well, so every caffeine lover can find a favorite. Even better, they’re committed to ethical, sustainable sourcing, so you can sip confidently.

Coffee at Top Pot is ethically and sustainably sourced, and available by the cup or bagged for home brewing.

Top Pot’s Greenville location is open daily from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. Because it's a retail-only space, there aren't tables for dining inside, but they're glad to provide boxes for taking your treats to-go. While we definitely recommend visiting for breakfast, it’s understandably busiest in the mornings, so give yourself some extra time in case there’s a line. Or, shake things up a bit and visit later for a sweet treat, because you really can’t ever go wrong with doughnuts.
