Feliz Cumpleaños, Urban Taco! On October 3rd, Urban Taco in Uptown hosted a party celebrating five years of tacos, tostadas, and margaritas. Guests were entertained by the music of James Gabriano and were offered two free margaritas!

Talk about great hosting, Urban Taco offered free margaritas to party guests.

Hors d’oeuvres like mini tacos and empanadas were passed to the many guests who enjoyed the party on the patio. It was a beautiful night, and the windows of the restaurant were open so everyone was able to enjoy the cooler fall temperatures.

Guests filled the restaurant and patio while they enjoyed Latin music.

Along with drinks, snacks, and music, Urban Taco's kitchen was open for full service, so we couldn’t pass up the chance to try more of their Tex-Mex fare.

We started with the tostadas and chose the De Tuna, Chicken Tinga, and Hongos. Urban Taco offers their tostadas and tacos as single servings or in a mix-and-match set of three, so why not try a few? All three tostadas were delicious, but De Tuna and the Hongos stood out. De Tuna is ahi tuna served over homemade mole sauce with almonds, avocado, and golden raisins. The Hongos is bursting with flavor. With delicious sauteed mushrooms and creamy goat cheese, you might want to make a meal out of this tostada.

A trio of tostadas make a perfect appetizer.

Tacos and Diablo Shrimp Cazuela followed the tostadas. When you order three tacos, you can choose two sides, so we chose the classic combination of Poblano Green Rice and Black Beans. Other options include Mango-Jicama Slaw and Roasted Corn con Lime Crema. Urban Taco gives you even more options by offering their tacos in homemade corn tortillas, soft flour tortillas, or lettuce wraps.

Mix and match tacos and sides to make the exact meal you want.

The Diablo Shrimp Cazuela was a flavorful dish filled with rice and shrimp and covered in cheese. The rice even has bits of chorizo mixed in, giving it a bold flavor to enhance the spicy roasted shrimp. It is served with a side of tortillas so you can make your own tacos, but this meal is so good, you might just want to eat it straight from the bowl.

Diablo Shrimp Cazuela is spicy, smoky, and cheesy. Some of our favorite things!

Congratulations, Urban Taco! Thanks for letting us celebrate with you!
