Velvet Taco isn't the newest taco shop to open in Dallas, but it's definitely one of the best. Situated on the corner of Henderson and North Central Expressway, it's a tasty destination for a quick lunch, dinner or late night bite. They offer a variety of taco options in a casual atmosphere, making it an ideal stop at any hour.

Falafel Taco

The Classic Rotisserie Chicken Taco

Their menu is more than typical tex mex tacos. Velvet Taco offers vegetarian, pork, beef, chicken, fish and breakfast tacos, all different and unique with each bite. From a Fish and Chips option to Roast Pork Banh Mi, these tacos are one of a kind. We tried a little bit of everything to get a taste for them all, starting off with the classic Rotisserie Chicken and Falafel. The Rotisserie Chicken was wrapped in a delicious corn tortilla and piled high with tender chicken, white queso, roast corn pico, cilantro and smoked poblano salsa. We loved the fullness of the taco, and the toppings made phenomenal additions. With crisp falafel wrapped in a lettuce shell and filled with tahini cream, arugula, tomatoes, avocado, red onion, micro greens and spicy fresnos, the Falafel Taco is a satisyfing fit for vegetarians. Both tacos made an impeccable and semi-light meal.

The Buffalo Chicken, Texas Burger and Cuban Pig Tacos

We took it up a notch with a few heavier selections including the Buffalo Chicken, Texas Burger and Cuban Pig. Housed in a flour tortilla, the crisp fried chicken tenders in the Buffalo Chicken are coated in spicy house buffalo sauce and topped with Danish blue cheese, ranch crema, carrots and celery leaves. The Texas Burger served as a teaser to our tastebuds -- taco or burger?! With trimmings like peppered bacon, smoked cheddar, onion, lettuce, tomato and pickle, all the familiar flavors are present. Throw it all in a flour tortilla, add velvet sauce, and you have a delicious spin on an all American burger. The Cuban sandwich meets a pork taco in the Cuban Pig: gruyere cheese, slow roasted pulled pork, shaved ham, peppered bacon, grain mustard and house brined pickles wrapped in a crisp flour tortilla. All three take classic dishes and transform them into taco masterpieces.

Rotisserie Corn and Deep Ellum's Neato Bandito Beer

Sides are a must to complement these creative tacos. Try the fan favorite, Rotisserie Corn. With one bite, you'll realize why it's loved by all. This "elote style" roasted corn is complemented with creamy queso fresco, asadero, valentina crema and a fresh lime to top it off. Equally loved, the Crisp Tots and Local Egg are another great addition with herbed goat cheese, smoked cheddar, avocado crema and bacon. End your meal with something sweet, because the Red Velvet cake is too dreamy to pass up on!

Taking a trip to Forth Worth or Houston? Stop by their location in either city! It makes an incredible lunch, but night owls can rejoice as well. With late night hours keeping the kitchen open till 4 am on the weekend, 12 am Sunday-Tuesday, 2 am Wednesday and 3 am Thursday, Velvet Taco is ideal for a late night taco fix.
