Water Grill is a Fine Addition to Uptown

Water Grill, an import from California, has made its way to Texas and found a home in Uptown amongst a sea of steakhouses. Water Grill fits the model of the surrounding restaurants, offering upscale dining and top-of-the-line seafood. The decor is nautical but breathtaking, with their entire copper bar and seawater tanks featuring their seasonal selections. The atmosphere is lively; making it the perfect place for group dinners, special occasions or even weekend brunch.

Let the sommelier help you choose your wine for the evening.

Drinks are plentiful at Water Grill, where they offer signature cocktails, a plethora of wines both by glass and bottle, as well as an extensive list of local beers on tap. Ask their knowledgeable sommelier for wine suggestions to pair with your meal.

The real hit at Water Grill is the fresh seafood. Oysters, raw crudo, lobster, crab claws and more encompass only the freshest of varieties as they're flown in every day. Start with oysters from the raw bar or indulge in the Florida Stone Crab Claws, which we were guaranteed are divine. For those looking for more traditional appetizers, the Jumbo Blue Lump Crab Cakes were a hit at our table.

The decadent North American Hard Shell Lobster.

The Filet Mignon stood out as one of our favorite steaks.

As we scanned the entree menu, we saw so many options we wish we could try, such as the Wild Alaskan Baked Cod Miso and the Wild Tahitian Big Eye Tuna. Instead, we decided to splurge and try the Live Wild North American Hard Shell Lobster. It came out cracked for us and ready to dig into. Served with melted butter and a side of light coleslaw, it was a terrific choice. For a seafood-focused restaurant, they serve phenomenal steaks. We tried the Filet Mignon served medium rare (exactly what we ordered) with a large spread of decadent butter on top.

Don't skip the sides; we suggest the creamy Mac and Cheese.

We're still dreaming of the Maple Cheesecake.

No meal is complete without something from the desert menu. Our waitress suggested the Caramel Bread Pudding or Maple Cheesecake. After much discussion, ultimately we went with the latter, and it did not disappoint. The cheesecake was creamy sweet and topped with an unforgettable sour cream ice cream. Not a morsel was left on the plate.

Because they're located in the heart of Uptown, parking is scarce along the streets, so we suggest valeting parking or taking an Uber. Water Grill is perfect for dinner, brunch, and everything in between. It may just be Uptown's finest addition this year.
