Winslow’s Wine Cafe has long been a popular hotspot for social sipping in Fort Worth, and they recently expanded by opening a new Dallas location on Cedar Springs. And although the new location is smaller in stature, it boasts a relaxed, inviting space that proves to be perfect for wining and dining on any day of the week.

The new Winslow’s features a slightly slimmer menu than the Fort Worth location, but don’t let that disappoint you; the chefs are talented, and finding something tasty is never a difficult task. But before you even consider food, start with Winslow’s specialty and order a glass of wine. Their menu features a thoughtfully curated selection of wines from around the world, and they have an option to suit almost any preference. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they’re always willing to offer a taster if you’re having trouble making up your mind. For an easy-to-pair red, try the 2011 Luiano Chianti Classico; it’s deep, smooth, and pairs well with most of the dishes on their menu. Or if you’re a fan of white wines, try the 2014 Mohua Sauvignon Blanc, a sweet and light New Zealand wine that’s perfect for summer sipping. They also serve a tempting selection of specialty house-recipe cocktails, so there’s something on the menu to fit any mood.

With an extensive and tempting selection of wines, Winslow's offers an option to suit any palate.

When it comes to food, definitely don’t skip out on ordering appetizers. Like any good wine bar, Winslow’s offers a tasty selection of Cheese and Charcuterie Plates that provide the perfect accompaniment to almost any glass.

Another delicious option is the Roasted Garlic and Truffle Hummus. It might sound like a basic appetizer, but it offers a robust, balanced flavor that’s sure to please. Whether you enjoy it with fresh pita bread or with veggies for a healthier alternative, it’s the perfect way to kick off your meal without getting too full.

The Roasted Garlic and Truffle Hummus is delicious, satisfying, and flavorful.

The menu at Winslow’s features several tasty entrée options that are all worth ordering, but if we had to make one recommendation, we’d suggest trying one of their specialty pizzas. These aren’t your typical pies; all pizzas on the menu are baked in-house in their large indoor pizza oven, and they’re topped with fresh, house-made mozzarella. The fresh ingredients and attention to detail really do make a difference, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised with just how well your wine can pair with a slice. The standout we’d suggest is the Jim Bowie, which comes topped with bacon, cheddar, jalapenos, barbecue sauce, and spicy chicken. It definitely packs a punch, but the spicy kick is smooth and delicious.

Although they’re still a recent addition to the Dallas restaurant scene, Winslow’s is already gaining popularity, and they’re typically busiest during their weekly happy hour. We definitely recommend planning your visit with friends, as their menu features a number of options that are perfect for sharing. For the best experience, take a group and get there early; with unbeatable happy hour pricing and an appetite, you’ll be able to sip and snack to your heart’s content.
