Tacos are a popular staple dish in Dallas, but few restaurants offer as much of a variety as Yucatan Taco Stand. One look at their menu reveals why they’re popular; they offer everything from zesty bowls to tacos to colossal nachos, with a drink menu that’s just as lengthy. Their newest location on Lower Greenville is spacious, with an open interior featuring plenty of table seating as well as a full bar, and double patios for ample outdoor dining space. And although the concept behind the restaurant isn’t anything particularly groundbreaking, it’s a great place for enjoying a few drinks or a casual meal.

The Yucatan Martini offers the best of both worlds by combining a margarita and martini.

At Yucatan Taco Stand, the drink menu is all about tequila. They serve a variety of tequilas that beg to be sampled, and their margaritas are also worth trying. The Yucatan Martini is an even better choice – it’s a tequila-based concoction that combines all the good flavors of a margarita with the class of a martini. If you’re not a tequila drinker, the Pegasus Mule is another solid choice, thanks to the addition of sweet peach that adds a refreshing twist to the standard Mule you might be used to sipping elsewhere.

The Pegasus Mule is a light and refreshing cocktail accented by notes of ginger and peach.

When it comes to ordering food, it’s hard to make a decision, thanks to a lengthy menu full of tasty options. For tacos, you’ll find choices featuring just about every meat or topping you can imagine, but we recommend you try the Garlic Shredded Beef for a popular taco that’s sure to satisfy.

The Garlic Shredded Beef taco is flavorful and delicious.

If you enjoy seafood, their signature taco, the Original Tempura, is another good choice, thanks to golden fried fish dressed to perfection with pico and veggies. If you’re trying to be healthy, order one of their bowls or salads and enjoy lower-carb versions of the tacos you crave. But if you’re really hungry, go big and order the nachos, which come piled high – and we mean high – with veggies, queso, and the meat of your choosing. They’re definitely big enough for sharing, so don’t feel bad about splitting them with a friend.

The Original Tempura is their signature taco, and the golden fried fish makes it easy to see why.

Nachos at Yucatan are delicious but massive, so they're a great option for sharing.

If you save room for dessert, Yucatan still has you covered; their three most popular options are traditional Tres Leches Cake, a Deep Fried Cheesecake that will leave you stuffed, and a Tequila Lime Sorbet that lets you finish your meal the way you started it: with more tequila. Because you order at the counter and then wait for your food, don’t visit if you’re in a rush; instead, try to go when the weather is nice and enjoy a relaxing meal on their spacious patio. They’re open till 10 on weekdays, and midnight on weekends, so it really is a place you can visit just about any time, whether it be for drinks, dinner, or both.
