The Woodlands Welcomes Crisp to the Neighborhood
The patio at Crisp
Crisp opened its doors to the public on April 20, 2015, offering the Woodlands a new place to enjoy wine and pizza. Judging by its name, you would think that Crisp is all about the pizza but if you take a look at the menu, it offers a lot more. The slogan is “Wine. Beer. Eatery.”, so the name can relate to the crisp taste of the wine, the craft beers and the pizza. Whatever it means, Crisp makes for a great work hour lunch spot. Taking the old location of previously relocated Black Walnut Café, the restaurant has been completely redesigned.
Upon pulling up to Crisp, you’ll notice the decent-sized patio in the front of the restaurant. When you walk in, you are greeted by a host/hostess and have the option of sitting inside or outside. The bar is situated in the center of the restaurant which can hold plenty of diners. To the right of the restaurant are large comfortable booths for intimate family style dining. To the left are two elegant floor-to-ceiling wine rooms made of glass which can hold 1000 bottles of red and white wines at separate controlled temperatures. Looking past the wine display, there is another seating area filled with tables and more booths. There are 2 murals painted on the walls that expresses the art of wine making: one is a painting of a cellar with barrels of wine, and the other is a wine vineyard. Also, toward the rear of the bar is a machine that dispense tastes of wine for you to try before you order a bottle.
The wine fridges
As mention before, Crisp might be known for their pizza in the Heights location, but the menu has a variety of dishes, some playing off of great Italian classics. The menu lunch/dinner menu offers appetizers that will certainly impress such as the Dairymaid’s Cheese Board with local and imported cheeses, preserves, Granny Smith apples, honey and sourdough bread; or the Roasted Mushroom Fondue made of spinach, Taleggio cheese served with grilled flatbread and white truffle oil.
Cluck You BBQ Pizza
When you’re ready to dive into your main meal, Crisp has lots to choose from: Salads (Crisp’s Classic Pizzeria Cobb salad), pasta dishes (Lamb Bolognese, Crab Mac & Cheese), hand tossed pizzas (Cluck You BBQ, Get ‘Em To The Greek, Toscano), and other delicious plates (Beer Can Chicken, Melting Beef Short Ribs). If you are watching your diet, they offer a menu that is on “the lighter side” of the plate with dishes such as the Vegetarian “Gyro” Plate, Grilled Beef Tenderloin Spiedini, and the Gluten Free Pasta Di Mare. The restaurant also has a kids’ menu that is filled with natural goodness for your children.
Whether you find yourself at the Heights location or the one in The Woodlands, Crisp offers more than just pizza. It gives customers a relaxing eatery with many choices of wine to have with your meal. Visit the new location in The Woodlands today or make your way to The Heights location.
